Matrix Program Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker

So i bought a 2nd Remote to our Matrix and i tried to find a way to program it. I search the web and there is may pages but none of them work, some kinda work and some did not... here are the steps that worked for programming a 2003-2008 Toyota Matrix Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker. These are from the following site but I'm copying and make sure you don't miss any detail and formated the way I like it.

Before you start make sure of the following:

  • Key out of the ignition
  • All doors closed
Follow the following steps to get the system ready:
  1. Get in the driver seat and make sure that drivers door is open and is unlocked.
  2. Within 5 seconds Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn) Pull key out 2 times
  3. Within 40 seconds Close then open the drivers door 2 times
  4. Within 5 seconds Insert the key into the ignition (Do NOT Turn) Pull key out 1 times
  5. Within 40 seconds Close then open the drivers door 2 times
  6. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition. then Close the drivers door.
  7. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
  8. Remove the key from the ignition.
If you have done them right: then a successful entry into programming mode is indicated by the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically within 3 seconds.

If the locks do not cycle at this point then Return to step 1

You must perform these steps within 40 seconds to program the remote(s)

  1. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remtoe simutaneously for 1.5 seconds.
  2. Immediately after press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds.
If you have done them right: within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming Repeat for each new remote.

If the door locks cycle twice, repeat the above steps as the remote was not accepted.

To complete the programming Open drivers door then close it.

Note: If your remote only unlocks but does not lock, the programming is complete but one of your doors is not fully shut.
